-
Come with a racket.
-
Read the 2019-20 PDF for details.
TL;DR Dress & Attire
Clothes:
-
An athletic shirt and shorts/skirt (or long athletic pants) are required for your participation in an activity class. (I.e., No jeans.)
-
Clothing shall be modest, clean and properly mended.
-
Shirts must cover the shoulders and full torso. (No tank tops.)
-
Shorts or pants must reach at least mid-thigh.
-
Inappropriate logos or sayings will not be tolerated.
-
Students who are not dressed in appropriate athletic attire will not be allowed to participate and are counted absent.
-
No wristband needed during class time.
-
There are men's and women's locker rooms located across from the east side of the track in the Smith Field House (SFH).
-
There is a restroom (which can be used as a changing area in a pinch) across from the outdoor courts entrance.
Tennis Shoes:
-
Acceptable shoes: Anything with a low-profile sole that doesn't leave a mark. E.g., Tennis shoes, Volleyball shoes, Basketball shoes, Racquetball shoes.
-
Conversely, shoes designed for use on hard surfaces such as running, walking, and other street or athletic shoes with hard composition soles are not acceptable for tennis court use.
-
Why not? Players are more likely to twist an ankle in high-profile shoes. Also, soles that leave marks make the courts look unpresentable for visiting teams. It's not unlike meeting your significant other's parents for the first time with a big, red hickey on you—not classy.
